The web site Danske Dandridge 1854-1914, was written and assembled by historian Jim Surkamp of Shepherdstown, West Virginia from archival collections in the Bedinger and Dandridge Family papers. This collection, containing 10,000 items, were mostly assembled by Ms. Dandridge and are now archived in the David M. Rubenstein Rare Book & Manuscript Library of Duke University. The web site was first posted in 2001 with the support of the West Virginia Humanities Council, The West Virginia Department of Culture and History, and the Arts and Humanities Alliance in conjunction with the West Virginia Commission for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts. Unfortunately, after a few years on the web, the posting of this acclaimed and much visited site was discontinued.
